A funeral goes wrong when a stranger is found in the grave. Now two detectives must dig up the truth.

A scream cuts through a village funeral when mourners discover a stranger already lying in the freshly dug grave, pulling Detective Inspector Sam Brock and newly promoted Detective Sergeant Guy Poole into their first case together in Bexford.

Poole, hoping his new post will help him outrun a painful past, soon finds himself navigating a community heavy with old grudges and long-buried resentments. Paired with the formidable Brock, who is juggling troubles of his own, he must find his footing fast as the investigation reveals wounds the village has never recovered from.
